The mission team left Saturday, July 29. Arriving in
Venezuela, they took a 14 passenger bi-plane to
Carupano. From there they had a 45 minute drive through
the mountains to the camp.
Much work was accomplished during the week in spite of
lots of rain, hot temperatures and many mosquitoes flying
around. Team members constructed a shower facility,
repainted the camp sign and did cleaning and painting in
preparation for the upcoming kid's camps.
The mission team left Venezuela Saturday, August 8 and
returned home. One side effect of the trip was the painful
dengue fever, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. Four
team members contracted the fever. All have since
recovered from it.
In the weeks following the mission trip, the Las Lomas
camp began four weeks of kid's camps. To date, 22
children have accepted Christ as their Savior. 19 children
have made re dedications.
